When was the last time you ate a hotdog? Long
ago, I suppose. Why? Probably because they are not so “reliable” on the streets
of Brazil.
Well, now I am proud to announce that I finally went to a small but really cute place where I enjoyed the hotdogs so much I can’t stop thinking about them. I’ve had two!! Gosh! I wanted to taste all three kinds of very special sausages and everything that goes well with them.
Surrounded by good burger places in an upscale neighborhood of São Paulo, Itaim, this small business started less than a year ago and is a huge success.
I’ve met one of the brothers, Shemuel Schoel, and he told me that he and his twin brother had lived in Chicago and worked at a hot dog place. There they definitely learned how it works. Before Chicago, while living in São Paulo, they enjoyed having friends over but took entertaining very seriously.
This serious style has been applied to the quality of their hotdogs. All ingredients, including the sausages, are specially prepared and produced for Thedog HaüsThe Dog Haüs. Even the buns are tasty!
Hard to decide what to put on it: chili, blue cheese, barbecue, crispy onion, sauerkraut, kimchi (a spicy Korean pickled cabbage), mushroom mix, jalapeno relish, and chutney.
